Industry Board

studio gameOn supporter network

We are fortunate to have an honoured Industry Board for studio gameOn. The board boasts representatives from Queensland’s growing community of casual game developers.

They will be our critical friends, aiding and abetting with the studio application process and offering advice and hints during the six week development process. You can follow some of their comments via the studio forums and watch them at work via our youtube channel

We are also fortunate to have some fabulous service and network support, as well as donations of space and equipment!

Meet the board:

John Passfield
John makes games for fun and for a living. He’s been doing this for almost a quarter of a century and hopes to do it for at least twice as long. He founded a number of game studios notably Gee Whiz! Entertainment, Krome Studios and Red Sprite Studios and is currently a creative director at Pandemic. His latest game is Brainiversity which you can find online, on Facebook and in stores all across North America.

Prior to joining Wildfire in 1999 he held Lead Programmer positions at companies such as Epic in the UK and DVP (now CDXGlobal) in Australia. Supporters

The studio is kindly supported by the Queensland University of Technology. In particular, we need to thank the Institute of Creative Industries and Innovation (iCi) and the QUT Faculty of Information Technology for their funding and support. The studio space is kindly provided by the Creative Industries Precincts, networking is supported by the fabulous computing service officers of the Creative Industries Faculty and the Australasian CRC for Interaction Design (ACID) has once again kindly donated the wonderful CHEN, maestro of the network and the secrets of streaming visual data through all sorts of barriers!
